To keep your swimming pool safe and sanitary there are a number of essential products, it makes no difference whether the pool is in-ground, above ground, indoors or outside. The primary consideration when you have a pool is safety and it matters little if the pool is being used or not. In many areas of the country, local regulations make it mandatory to fence the pool if it is in-ground. As well as fencing, pool cleaners and Bioguard pool chemicals are a necessity.

Of all the products that can be purchased when you have a pool, a fence is the one thing that can save lives and really is a must. The fence does not have to be such that your pool area looks like a prison exercise yard but it should be high enough to keep toddlers well away from the pool. Not only will the fence save the life of a child, the fence will also keep neighborhood pets from getting in the pool.

The swimming pool is not much more than a big pond of water without the pump and filtration system, next to the pool itself, the most expensive item. The pump and filters take care of the circulation of the water, which has been treated with Bioguard pool chemicals and the filtration of the water. The filters eliminate pool sediment and other debris and without them, the pool would quickly become unusable.

Once you have a pool it must be well maintained for maximum pleasure. A pool vacuum system of some sort as well as a pool net is needed. There are a number of pool vacuums available, including robots which clean every inch of the pool. It may be a good idea to have two different nets, one deep net for the removal of large debris and a shallow skim net to pick up small particles that float on the surface. A few good stiff brushes come in handy to rid the pool walls of any algae that might form.

There are various Bioguard pool chemicals that are needed to keep the pool free from bacteria. The bare minimum chemicals that you will need are chlorine and acid, there are other pool chemicals that are used to test the levels of chlorine. There are also chemicals that will clear the water in the event it becomes cloudy.
