Visit the DMV

Commercial driver’s license requirements can vary from state to state, so the first step is to go to your local DMV. You will receive a great deal of information on the Internet or you can call them or even visit in person.

Check to see if you qualify to take the tests. For example, you may need to be a resident for at least six months or perhaps longer.
