The Medit i700 scanner is a fast and straightforward intraoral scanner, and the recent software update (2.4.3) makes it faster. This digital scanner can achieve full-arch scanners within 40 seconds with records of around 18 seconds. You can easily scan the midline and anterior teeth, which have been problematic to scan in the past.
Smart/Segmental Scanning
Medit has also introduced smart scanning into their software available in both the i700 and i500. This technique means that scanning strategies are not required at all. A digital model can be built from separate scan sections combined, provided there are common scanning elements between them. In short, you can scan the left and right sides and combine them by scanning the anterior aspect. This makes it easy for beginners who may find it hard to follow scanning pathways.

Even though the Medit i500 is among the lightest and smallest scanners with a small scanner head and great ergonomics, the Medit i700 scanner proves to be much better. It is lighter than all other scanners at only 245 grams, while the i500 is only 180 grams. This makes for a device that is comfortable and easy to use.

The i700 has a fan within the scanner like all others in the market, allowing doctors to scan for long because it prevents fogging on the scanner tip. The internals also has a UV-C internal LED in the scanner to disinfect the interior parts of the i700.
