Size Reduction Milling Machine is an important component in manufacturing of drugs in the pharmaceutical industry, for food industry for enhanced deagglomeration and in other industries. These machines are used for size reduction of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) and also for Formulation (Solid Dosage) & Excipients in pharmaceuticals. The Milling process improves the formulation dissolution and increases the surface area of the particles. It also results in consistent particle size distribution which is necessary in the overall process for blending and compression since it’s a mixture and results in good quality tablets & capsules.
The Conical Mill operates by feeding the product into the conical mill through gravity where by means of a rotating impeller imparts a vortex flow pattern which forces the product to pass through small openings in the conical surface with centrifugal acceleration. The product is then collected at the bottom through milling chamber for further process. A variety of customizations are available for impeller and conical screen for different requirements. The Conical Mill technology has certain advantages over Hammer Mill in terms of low noise, less dust and heat and uniformity in particle size. This results in low energy consumption and high quality end product even with heat sensitive materials. The Comill also reduces generation of fines which prevents dust explosion hazards
The first conical mill was invented by Quadro Engineering in 1976 and with presence in over 80 countries it remains world leader in conical mills. Every Quadro Comil offers variety of customizations and handles different range of products for every need in pharmaceutical, food, chemicals & personal care industry. Quadro Comils create tight particle sizing which creates good flow and powders are more uniform making the process more efficient for the customer.
