Ro-An Industries, Ro-An Bag Machine Parts Living On In Thiele Technologies

by | Jun 3, 2016 | Parts and Spares

If you have been involved in the plastic bag industry for any time, you will have heard of Ro-An Industries. Their name is synonymous with high quality plastic bag machines. This is one reason why many distributors carry Ro-An bag machines parts. They know it is wise to have in stock the components that a company may require in order to stay in production.

Who Is Ro-An Industries?

Ro-Ann Industries was a company formed in 1963 by Angelo Cervera. He started out by making machines in a small office and soon expanded. Cervera soon was producing more than customized machinery for packaging converters. They soon began production of a complete line of plastic bag machinery. The company expanded far beyond the walls of his office becoming a major player in the United States industry.

The company consisted of several facilities including an R & D building and service testing (2009). The head office and other major structures were located in Middle Village, New York. The products sold globally with the Cervera family continuing to run the company. All machinery and parts were made in the United States. They chose not to outsource labor or product components. Their versatile line of plastic bag machine converters became popular in part because they were affordable. The machinery is easy to use and is available in different types to match the needs of plastic bag and pouch manufacturers.

Ro-An Industries Today

In 2009, Ro-An Industries was producing approximately 45 different types or models of high-speed bag and pouch machinery. Their lineup consisted of:

  • Bottom-seal sealing systems
  • Film unwind systems
  • Freedom series pouch making equipment
  • Polyeagle bottom seal
  • Polystar side weld machines
  • Wicketing bag machines (automatic)
  • Zipper plastic bag machines

Everything they produced was done in-house.

Their fortunes changed following that year. Thiele Technologies had acquired certain assets – including certain Ro-An bag machines parts all included. This allowed them to expand their own line of bag converting machinery. This helped them to increase the versatility of their current line by offering clients the chance to purchase systems that could produce pre-made bags in diverse fashions, utilizing different models created by Ro-An Industries. Ro-An Industries, until 2015 operated as a subsidiary of Thiele Technologies. In that year, Ro-An went Chapter 7, liquidating their assets including their machinery.

Ro-An Bag Machines Parts and Systems

Today, when you receive a plastic bag, it may be the product of a Ro-An system. The equipment still bears the name given by its original founder. The company, however, does not. Fortunately, for manufacturers, they are not faced with the inevitable problems when a company goes out of business. Not only are the systems still available, but so, too are Ro-An bag machine parts.
